Niki, over at Wool 'N' Nuts, gave me this beautiful award.
I was kind of hoping I could claim it was my seventh to go along with the seven things I have to tell you and the seven bloggers I pass it on to, but it's only my fifth.
1. Seven is my lucky number.
2. It's springtime at my house. If you've looked at my profile, you already know I like to garden. These are the first pictures I've posted on my blog as evidence though.
my spinach that needs to be thinned
my lavender
my first two snow peas this year
my first peach tree blossom this year
3. I like toads. I was very careful not to hurt any hibernating toads when I dug up and planted this box, last week, but I did relocate five of the little squeakers.
before
after
4. I don't like gophers. My cat caught this one and shared it with us long enough for me to make a video of it in all it's ninja gopher glory.
My filming leaves something to be desired, but, if you would like to see a short video of this bold gopher, let me know in the comments.
5. My name is Irish for beloved.
6. My ninja gopher catching cat's name is Irish for freckled.
7. I signed up for this week's Crack the W-I-P/March mini-NaNo over at Laini Taylor's blog. I like that it lets me set my own goals since I need to finish a novel re-write and write various bits for magazines this month.
Now, I would like to give this award to:
Jackee - a fellow WIP cracker, animal observer, and mother of three
Maile - for sharing her homemade laundry detergent recipe
Aimee - because I know she likes flowers :)
Catherine - surprised she doesn't already have it
Debbie - for sharing fun crafts and experiences
Karen - because The Pea is sick
and Rorie - even though I can't link because her blog is private
Thank you, Niki! And thanks for recommending THE GRUFFALO. We've been enjoying it very much!
Thanks Myrna, you are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteAs are you, Maile. You're so welcome.
ReplyDeleteThey (trees) come in peach? I'm getting one... (Don't know where I'll put it exactly, but it's (not) my birthday, and I wants it.) :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award! And I'm so jealous - I want to have spring at my house! :(
ReplyDeleteThat gopher looks rabid! (Or possessed....) Be careful, very careful!
ReplyDeleteShelley
Krista (channeling Gollum), mine's a midget (dwarf, pixie), but I pulled 108 tiny peaches off of it last year. I like to think it meant to drop them on its own, since keeping them would have been suicidal.
ReplyDeleteSusan, spring will be there soon. And I'll have to sit on my hands this summer to keep from complaining about the heat.
Shelley, gophers are all a bit possessed. I've seen them take on cats and win (not my freckled beauty, though). Right now, they're chewing the roots off my fruit trees, including the cute little peach.
Ah, so that's what a gopher looks like. I think we had some in our yard. Or maybe it was a mole. Or whatever they are.
ReplyDeleteYum on your garden goodness.
Thanks for the award!
You're welcome, Rorie.
ReplyDeleteThe gopher looks scary with its mouth open showing all of its teeth.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet. Thanks Myrna!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks. :) It's been a hectic week for me, so it's kind of nice to be reminded that, oh yeah, I DO have a blog floating in cyberspace...
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, you are so right, I love flowers. And moreover, I am jealous of your spring. Although I'm pretty sure it's almost here for me, too. :)
You're welcome! :o) The Gruffalo's Child is great too.
ReplyDeleteI love lavender and have lots in the garden. Oh that gopher, crikey!
Thank you so much for the award. You are so incredibly thoughtful! I don't have this one. And man, all that greenery made me so jealous. I'm still in snow.
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to see the crazy pocket gopher video. I used to trap those things for inventory (what's there and why) surveys and love a good rabid mammalian show.
How is WIP-it going for you, BTW? I'm behind...
Southpaw, yep, definitely scary.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Catherine!
Soon, Aimee!
I'll have to check it out, NIki.
And Jackee, I'm behind, too, but not by a lot.
