Happy Dancing

Anyone who wants to happy dance with me over finishing a picture book manuscript that I'm excited about can start dancing . . .

This picture book has actually had a title (which I think I'll keep to myself just a bit longer) for about five years, and I've written two or three other stories with different characters and story lines, stories that made me say, "Meh." I'm excited to revise this one into something I can query or submit. So I'm giving myself a September 21st deadline to complete Shelley's dare. After all, that's technically the end of summer, right?

Because I have this other manuscript (still under 90,000 words) that I'm working on until Wednesday.

    Just now, it's not a writing project that has me excited. It's getting all my kids together for Labor Day!

    Congratulations! I too am excited about a writing project. I hoped to have it finished by the end of August, couldn't do that because of the summer doldrums. What a difference a small cool front can do!

    Great job, Myrna. Chill a bit and celebrate. I've given myself a month off after finishing the first draft of my wip. Right now I'm excited about my son doing his algebra homework without being asked. Amazing!

    I'm excited that I'm rocking and rolling on my next two WIPs. The words are flyinf off my fingertips. Getting stuff done. Developing some really cool fight scenes and some twists and turns that the reader will not expect. Thanks for asking.

    I know, Wick. I dread after school craziness. I'm glad you got a nap though.

    You're welcome, Kristin, but it wasn't a post. She e-mailed out a bunch of dares at the beginning of summer. She dared me to either write a picture book or start a novel in verse. I told her I'd take the picture book and up the stakes by submitting or querying it. I shouldn't have raised the stakes.
