Goldi Rocks Release Giveaway!

Putnam released GOLDI ROCKS AND THE THREE BEARS earlier this month, though I was lucky enough to score a galley in December. Written in limericks, by Corey Rosen Schwartz and Beth Coulton, it tells the story of the Three Bear Band's search for a soprano. I especially enjoyed the nod toward tryouts for shows like American Idol. It's a fun read.

Corey Rosen Schwartz's THE THREE NINJA PIGS (also written in limericks) ties with Mo Willems's GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE DINOSAURS for my favorite picture book retelling. It's hilarious.

I'm excited to read the sequel that's due to release in July, NINJA RED RIDING HOOD.

Ninja Red Riding Hood

So, to celebrate the release of GOLDI ROCKS AND THE THREE BEARS, I'm giving one of the above away. The winner may choose which picture book they'd like, but remember that NINJA RED RIDING HOOD won't ship until July. To enter, tell me which fairy tale character* intrigues you most. I'll throw in a bonus entry if you tell me why. You have until noon on March 15th (the Ides of March) to enter.

*I'm not going to be strict about this. If you want to use Mr. Darcy as your fairy tale character, that's fine by me. ;o)

  2. Thanks for such a great giveaway. I actually own the first two books on your list and can't wait to read the 3rd! At least for today, the Big Bad Wolf is intriguing me. How did he manage to eat Grandma all in one piece? And what did she do when she was inside him? :)

  4. I like Snow White and how she sings to the animals.

  5. Can't wait to get Goldi Rocks into my hands! Goldilocks is an intriguing fairytale character because there's got to more to the story as to why she went into the bear's house when they weren't home in the first place. No manners? Or something more to the story?

  6. Great giveaway, Myrna. I'd love to win Goldi Rocks! As to which fairy tale character intrigues me the most, I'd have to say Cruella de Vil. Why? Oh, the bad ones are always more interesting... Horrible and obsessed, but interesting.

  7. I've fallen in love with Corey Rosen Schwartz's writing since I read Goldi Rocks. It's one of the best picture books ever!
I've always been intrigued by Little Red. She looks so sweet but she's a real rebel, taking the long road she was told NOT to take, having fun along the way instead of going straight to grandma's place, talking to furry strangers and wearing that stylish red hood... She's so cool!
I'd love to read Corey's update on this classical. I bet Ninja Red rocks!
