I finished my third draft! Thanks to everyone for their encouragement, especially those of you who've volunteered to read and critique it.
And thanks to everyone who liked my little poem. This week, I feel a bit like Beaker singing the "Me Me Me" song. Next week, I'm focusing on somebody else. It's been a while since I recommended a book. :o)
Thanks, Adam. I still have quite a few drafts to go. I'd love to have you critique it farther down the road, if you still have time. You never know. You may be mired in edits for an agent by then. ;)
It feels great, Kelly. Thank you.
LOL! Krista, I hope you still feel that way when you start reading.
Thanks, Amy. I doubt I'll have anything exciting to report about myself anyway. Drafts, submissions, publication - they all take time.
Ah, Ryan, but the the thought that you were just about finished prodded me right along. Thank you. And thanks for inviting me to workshop with you guys next week.
CONGRATULATIONS! How exciting for you to have finished a third one!!! I can't wait to experience that feeling, for now I'll stick with the feeling of finishing my first!
LOL! The Muppets never get old. Congratulations on getting a third draft done! That is such a great accomplishment, since most people, if they do write a book, never get past the second pass through. So make sure the husband takes you out to celebrate!
And don't feel like you're tooting your own horn. You're not. You're passing on info that all of us would want to know. If you don't tell us, who will?
Esther, I had a really hard time (for years) settling on one story long enough to finish it, and it still needs more work. That's why I write short stories, non-fiction, and poetry; they may take almost as long to get published, but I need the instant gratification of finishing something (even if it never gets published). Try something shorter, or try taking it in chapters. Finish a chapter and then move on to the next one. You can do it.
Thanks, Susan! I'm celebrating. I have this stack of books I've been dying to read . . .
Congrats on finishing your draft. I love it when writer's get excited about the important stuff like that. Love the fireworks btw. Where did you get that from?
That's so awesome!!! Congratulations :) And here I hadn't been reading enough to know you'd made it past the second one. What a great post to get back into blog reading with.
Congratulations again! This is way exciting, and I hope you've gotten the chance to celebrate.
Woah. A muppet viral video. That was awesome.
